Follow the 24 Hours of Le Mans on TV

The 83rd Le Mans 24-Hours race is attracting as much interest as ever among TV channels worldwide. This year, the event will be shown in 19 countries, a potential viewing audience of 802 million. To immerse themselves in what goes on behind the scenes fans can follow 24H Inside, the Le Mans 24-Hours WebTV, and in addition they can watch the whole race live by downloading the official application 24H Le Mans.

Over the last two weeks the huge TV Compound has been erected on the inside of the Le Mans 24-Hours circuit. It’s a village in itself peopled with outside broadcast units and cabins for the various commentators.

1 240 people work in the compound: those whose job it is to capture the images of the Le Mans 24 Hours and to show the race, as well as all the teams of reporters, commentators and consultants from all over the world. Compared to 2014 there are 217 more people.

Out of these 1 240 people, 500 mandated by the ACO, work on the production of live televised images for the 24H Le Mans application, official films and the Le Mans 24-Hours WebTV, 24H Inside.

This year 30 different channels will show the Le Mans 24 Hours live or in delayed broabcasts. The blue riband event of the FIA World Endurance Championship can be seen on TV in 19 different countries and some 802 million viewers can thrill to the legendary endurance race.

In addition the Automobile Club de l’Ouest services have accredited more than 100 teams doing TV reports completing the work of the teams airing the race and also those not broadcasting coverage of the event, and to meet the demands of the teams whose requests for images continues to increase. Finally, 24H Le Mans, the official Le Mans 24 Hours application (see further on) and 24H Inside, the Le Mans 24-Hours Web TV that can be viewed on www.24h-lemans.com, are an indispensable addition to what’s on offer on the TV channels.
